Who We Are

A Different Kind of Law Firm

When we formed Vold LLC, we set out to create a different kind of law firm—one that would deliver outstanding results to our clients, but do so a more personal, creative, efficient way. We realize that before contacting us, our clients may have had no prior experience in the legal system, which can be intimidating and confusing.  Our mission is to zealously and aggressively represent our clients’ interests while guiding them through the litigation process.

Our client base is diverse.  It includes workers and health care patients who were physically injured, consumers and investors who were defrauded or deceived, and entrepreneurs and small business owners who are in the midst of business disputes.  But as diverse as our clients are, they all have one thing in common—they were harmed through no fault of their own and are in need of serious, sound legal representation. They trust us to handle their most complex legal problems: products liability, toxic tort, personal injury, and medical malpractice litigation; securities, commercial, trademark, and copyright disputes; and multi-district environmental and consumer fraud cases.

While we are based in Chicago, Illinois, we have a national reach.  We often partner with or refer matters to elite plaintiffs firms across the nation to leverage our shared capabilities.

Our Edge—Trial Lawyers With Superior Technology

We are a firm of trial lawyers, not litigators.  We have years of courtroom experience, with substantial trial and arbitration experience, as well as appellate experience at the highest levels.

Obviously, not all cases go to trial.  In fact, many of our clients have settled out of court. However, our experience shows that if the time comes to discuss settlement with our opponents, our clients get the best settlement results when our opponents know that we are ready, willing, and able to try the case.  Simply put, trial lawyers get superior settlements.

To further enhance our trial preparations, we often consult with experts on the faculties of universities and research institutions around the country, as well as leverage the specialized knowledge of innovators and leaders in particular industries.

We put our clients at the biggest possible advantage by our effective use of leading-edge technologies to do superior work with fewer lawyers in less time.

No Hourly Fees—Clients Pay Nothing Unless We Recover Money for Them

Our firm focuses only on what matters and what makes a difference to the outcome of a case.

We do not charge by the hour.  Instead, we enter into fee agreements that reward success and efficiency.  Typically, our clients pay us nothing, unless we recover money for them through settlement or jury verdict.  Our goal in each case is to negotiate a fee structure that will ensure that our interests and the client's are fully aligned.  Our firm's approach to fees ensures that we remained focused on results.
